The Missouri Tigers could not maintain the pace of their electric start, as despite sinking five three-pointers in the opening minutes, the Tigers would lose a double-digit lead and stumble against the Ole Miss Rebels with a 76-69 loss Saturday, Jan. 10 in Oxford, Miss.

The Tigers jumped to a 22-12 lead, making eight of their first 11 field goals, including three by Jayden Stone from behind the arc. The Rebels responded with a 15-3 run to claim their first lead, en route to a narrow halftime advantage of 37-36. The game remained back and forth, before Ole Miss built a two-possession lead that they were able to reclaim after Mizzou tied it at 62 apiece. Mizzou were ultimately done in by their poor shooting from the charity stripe, netting just 12 of their 24 free-throw attempts, while Ole Miss went 15-for-19 and also claimed nine baskets from behind the arc, compared to seven for Mizzou.

Mark Mitchell led the Tigers with 20 points, adding eight rebounds and seven assists, while Stone netted 16 points. Shawn Phillips Junior added 12 points, while Trent Pierce also reached double-figures with 10 from the bench. Ole Miss relied heavily on the duo of Malik Dia and AJ Storr, as Storr led all scorers with 26 points, while Storr landed 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Mizzou are now 12-4 on the season, losing their first game in SEC play this season. The Auburn Tigers make their way to Mizzou Arena this Wednesday, with pregame coverage at 5:30 p.m. and tipoff at 6 p.m. on KMMO.
