The Blackburn Board of Aldermen held its first meeting in 2026, approving repairs to the city park and discussing asphalt milling on several streets.
The board first voted to spend around $200 to repair swing sets at the city park using funds the city received from the Develop Saline County Advisory Board in October. The board also discussed plans for asphalt overlay on 1st Street, 5th Street, and Rea Street, which is another project the city will use Saline County Economic Development funds to complete. Ward 2 Aldermen Jeremy McKeage said he plans get quotes from area vendors to see how much the project would cost.
The board also voted to request bids for tree trimming services at the city’s park and tennis/basketball courts.
The Board of Aldermen’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 9th.
