The Board of the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation held its first meeting in 2026, receiving updates regarding grant funding for childcare as well as as information about several ongoing projects at the Marshall Junction on Tuesday, January 13th.

During his report, MSDC Director Conner Swift explained that MSDC has received $50,000 from the Buckner Foundation for childcare purposes. The Buckner Foundation aims to support charitable organizations which benefit the residents of Saline County. Swift also expressed interest in applying for a Downtown Revitalization Grant through the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

Also during the meeting, Southern Commissioner Monte Fenner provided an update on several projects taking place at the Marshall Junction. Fenner explained work on the sewer system is about 60 percent complete, while the Welcome Center is about 50 percent finished.

The board will next meet on Tuesday, February 10.
