jail-guilty

A Warrensburg man will spend the next decade in a state prison after pleading guilty to two counts of possessing child pornography.

27-year-old Marioangel Alvarado the Second learned his sentence Monday in a Johnson County courtroom. Alvarado admitted in court last October that he had possessed at least two illicit videos involving juveniles between February and June 2025. Prosecutors had originally sought five counts against Alvarado, after detectives with the Warrensburg Police Department say they received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that a Warrensburg resident, whom they later identified as Alvarado, had uploaded or shared as many as 23 videos to a private chat app.

Alvarado was sentenced to ten years on each count, which he will serve concurrently.
