The Carrollton R-7 Board of Education finalized ballot language for the April Municipal Election as the district is seeking a 20 year levy to use for facility and campus improvements.
The ballot language for the levy was approved during the board’s January 13th meeting. Superintendent Dr. Tinna Croy says the district is proposing a 20-year, no tax increase levy for various improvements to the district, including additions to the Middle School.
Other projects the levy would help fund include HVAC system upgrades, renovations of existing facilities and classrooms, and traffic and lighting improvements to ensure the safety of students. Croy notes this measure would not increase the current temporary operating levy of $1.3407 per $100 assessed valuation.
The board also reviewed candidate filings for the three available seats on the April ballot. Croy says the three incumbents were the only ones to file during December’s filing period. The April Municipal Election will be held April 7th.
In other news, the Board of Education approved the 2026 Minimum Wage increase to $15 per hour and the 2026-2027 School Calendar. The first day of the next school year begins August 25th.
The board’s next meeting is set for Tuesday, February 10th.
