Teachers at the Moberly School District will see a slight bump in their pay for the next school year, after increases were approved Tuesday, Jan. 13 by the district’s board of education.

Supt. Cristina Wright says the 1.5 percent increase to the district’s salary schedule was approved during a monthly update on the district’s finances.

Wright says her district is continuing to make an effort to attract quality talent, amid an uncertain future for revenue sources.

Also Tuesday night, the Moberly school board announced the promotion of Damon Wells to principal of Moberly High School for the 2026-27 school year, upon the retirement of current principal Deborah Hill-Haag. Moberly is also on the look for a new assistant principal for Moberly Middle School, after Tuesday night’s announcement that Nicole Roark will become the next superintendent at the Madison C-3 School.
