An early morning crash on Interstate 70 west of Boonville injured two people early Thursday, Jan. 15.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 46-year-old man from Kansas City was driving his vehicle east on Interstate 70 at around 2:35 a.m. Thursday, when at the 96.2 mile marker, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. The car crossed the outer road and struck a tree. The driver and his passenger, a 36-year-old woman from Boonville, both incurred moderate injury and were taken to a Columbia hospital. Troopers say both people in the vehicle were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
