A Huntsville man is facing felony charges after a series of burglaries and vehicle thefts reported in December, as well as an additional stealing incident on Saturday, January 10th.

Authorities began investigating a string of vehicle thefts that occurred in Randolph County on December 8-9, leading to the arrest of Brennan Todd Kitchen.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle driven by Kitchen in the Moberly city limits on December 9th. Kitchen allegedly stole a Ford Ranger, drove to a different residence in Randolph County, and then stole a Ford F-150 while leaving the Ranger parked at the residence. He was then charged with two felonies for tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree and burglary in the second degree. Kitchen posted $20,000 surety bond for this warrant on December 29th.

Detectives were later able to connect Kitchen to several other thefts and burglaries reported in the county on December 8 and 9th. During the two days prior to his arrest in December, Kitchen reportedly also stole a Ford Shelby Mustang, a Polaris Ranger, various hunting equipment, as well as a leaf blower and chainsaw from various residences in Randolph County.

Recently, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 3 a.m. January 10th in response to another burglary involving Kitchen. Kitchen allegedly entered the victim’s private property, entered the victim’s unlocked pickup, stole various tools and equipment totaling more than $400, then left the residence in the victim’s Polaris side-by-side. Kitchen then crashed on a hillside and abandoned the vehicle.

Kitchen is now facing felony charges on two additional warrants in Randolph County. For the thefts reported in December, he is facing five counts of burglary in the second degree, two counts of tampering with a motor vehicle, one count of stealing a motor vehicle, and one count of stealing $750 or more. Kitchen has also been charged with two felonies for burglary in the second degree and tampering with a motor vehicle for the January incident. Bond for each warrant has been set at $20,000 cash only.

Kitchen was arraigned Thursday at Randolph County Circuit Court. No other court appearances have been scheduled at this time.
