
A Marshall woman was killed after losing control of her vehicle and striking another vehicle head-on while traveling on U.S. Highway 65 at 6:33 p.m. Friday, January 16.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old woman from Marshall began to lose control on Highway 65, just east of Waverly. The vehicle then crossed the center line and struck another vehicle operated by a 32-year-old Chillicothe woman head-on.
The Marshall woman was pronounced dead at the scene. In the other vehicle, the driver and a 35-year-old male passenger had moderate injuries, while two young children had minor injuries. All four were taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
This is the third fatal crash and third fatality investigated by the Patrol’s Troop A in 2026. Drivers are urged to use extra caution when driving on roadways covered with snow and ice.
