A Blackburn woman suffered moderate injury after the vehicle she was a passenger in slid off a highway north of Sweet Springs on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 42-year-old woman was a passenger in a car that a 17-year-old was driving south on Route 127 after 10 a.m. Troopers say at the intersection with 150th Road, the vehicle began to skid and went off the roadway, striking a ditch and coming to rest in a field. The Blackburn woman was taken to a Columbia hospital, while the driver had no reported injuries. Troopers add that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while the driver was wearing hers.
