A Holden man was seriously injured when his vehicle struck a pickup on a highway east of Harrisonville on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 27-year-old man was driving west on Route 2 about five miles east of Harrisonville, at around 5:40 p.m. Troopers say a pickup driven by a 31-year-old man from Archie failed to yield as it approached a stop sign from the south at the intersection with Kauffman Road, resulting in the collision. The Holden man and a passenger in the truck, a 30-year-old from Harrisonville, were both taken to a Kansas City area hospital with serious injuries. The other driver refused treatment on the scene of his minor injuries. Troopers add that none of the three men were believed to be wearing their seat belts at the time of the wreck.
