The Blackburn Board of Aldermen accepted a bid for snow removal during its meeting last week.

Aldermen reviewed bids during a closed session following its meeting on Monday, January 12th. A total of three bids were reviewed before the board accepted the bid from Haynes Excavation. The board also discussed lease purchase options for a new tractor to be used for city maintenance. No final decision was made for a tractor purchase.

The board then held a discussion regarding interviews for City Clerk candidates. The board agreed to hold the interviews during a special meeting to accommodate the availability of each board member and candidate. The interviews would be conducted in closed session as well. The date for this special meeting has not been set, but the board reportedly wants to arrange the interviews prior to the next regular meeting.

The Blackburn Board of Aldermen’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 9th.
