The Odessa Board of Aldermen voted to approve an amendment to its mobile food vendors ordinance during its meeting on January 12th.

The city first approved its mobile food vendor ordinance about two years ago. City Administrator Shawna Davis says the board voted to increase the distance that mobile food vendors are allowed to set up from another restaurant.

Both readings of a bill approving the amended ordinance were passed at the meeting.

In other news from the meeting, the board reviewed a budget presentation from Finance Directory Cathy Thompson. Davis notes the city is gearing up for the approval of its next year’s budget with several budget workshops to be held over the next few months.

The first budget workshop will be held prior to the board’s next meeting on Monday, January 26th.
