The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved the appointment of Ashley Page to the city’s board of public safety.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says Page recently became chief of the Higginsville Fire Protection District, which covers the city.

Dobson says Page brings years of experience not just with the fire district, but also as a city employee.

Also at their Tuesday, Jan. 20 meeting, the board approved an extension of Dobson’s employment contract, with an annual evaluation built-in. The board also agreed to move their second board meeting of February to Tuesday, Feb. 17, because of the Presidents’ Day holiday.
