
The first sales tax report of 2026 shows a just-under one percent decrease from the previous year for tax collections in Saline County.
The figures from the Missouri Department of Revenue, provided by Saline County Treasurer Jared Brewer, show Saline County bringing in $111,482.47 in sales tax revenue during the month of December, a $4774.75 decrease from the previous month and a $948.13 decline from the same month a year ago. Similar declines were reported for the economic development and law enforcement sales taxes.
Use tax collections in Saline County increased during December to $85,047.70. While $5935.44 better than the previous month, the year-over-year total was down 1.7 percent.
Sales and use tax monies collected each month by the Missouri Department of Revenue are remitted to county and local governments the first week of the following month.
