
Two area residents were arrested and charged after Pettis County authorities executed a narcotics search warrant on Wednesday, January 21st.
The Pettis County Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) and detectives with the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force executed the search warrant at a location on South Main Street in La Monte at 6:15 a.m. During the execution of the search warrant, over one pound of methamphetamine was seized along with approximately 20 grams of cocaine, oxycodone pills, evidence of a psilocybin mushroom grow, and 9 firearms. Of the 9 firearms seized, one was reported stolen through the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and another was reported to have been used in a robbery in Kansas City. Additionally, a PBT device reported missing from the Sedalia Police Department in 2022 was recovered. Two individuals, identified as 36-year-old Lindsey Emery and 37-year-old Jonathan Bell, were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
Emery is facing felony charges for delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs, unlawful possession of a firearm, and armed criminal action. Bond was set at $75,000 cash or surety. Bell has been charged with trafficking drugs in the second degree, delivering a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs, unlawful use of a weapon, receiving stolen property, and armed criminal action. His bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.
Arraignment for both was held Thursday, January 22nd. No other court dates have been set at this time.
