Update: The roadways have reopened.

A portion of West 16th Street in Sedalia remains closed Thursday, Jan. 22 after a water main break caused damage to a one-block stretch of the roadway.

Sedalia Public Works crews responded to the break after 5 p.m. Wednesday, resulting in the roadway’s closure between Barrett and Sneed. City officials say crews have been on site throughout the night to repair the break and restore service to impacted residents. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and follow posted detours.
