The Concordia R-2 School District has joined a long list of area school districts looking for a new superintendent after Dr. Theresa Christian has announced her resignation effective June 30th.

According to a release from the Board of Education, Christian is resigning to accept a position as the Superintendent of Schools for the Lafayette County C-1 School District beginning July 1st. Christian has served with the district for the past four years, working to improve student achievement, recruit and retain highly qualified teachers, while achieving a balanced budget.

The Board of Education says it will work together with Christian over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition to the district’s next Superintendent.
