Current Concordia R-2 Superintendent Theresa Christian reflected on her four years with the school district and provided an update on the Board of Education’s search for its next lead administrator.

The Board of Education announced on Friday that Christian is resigning to become the next Superintendent with the Lafayette County C-1 School District on July 1st.

Christian, who became Concordia’s superintendent in July 2022, spoke to KMMO News about some of the things the district has accomplished over the past four years. Christian highlighted the Concordia’s bond measure and improving APR Scores as major accomplishments for the district. She says she is grateful for the Concordia community and is excited to begin her new role in Higginsville.

The Board of Education has hired the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA) to help conduct the search. Christian says district has also put out a survey to get feedback and rank personal and professional priorities for the new superintendent.

A link to the survey available here. The board will be reviewing the results of the survey at its February 11th meeting and plan the next steps along with MSBA Search Consultants in hiring the next superintendent.
