The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works reviewed several action items during its meeting Wednesday morning.
One of the key items the board reviewed was an updated interconnect agreement with Panhandle. With the construction of the Marshall Energy Center, improvements need to be made on the MMU pipeline, which includes the Panhandle line. MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom says these improvements are needed to increase the pressure and flow to meet the needs of the gas turbines being installed at the energy center. It will take Panhandle about six months to complete the work. The board approved the agreement and will request approval from the city council during its next meeting.
The Board of Public Works also approved a motion to request proposals for exterior door and window replacement at the Electric Distribution and Underground Facilities buildings. Board members then approved a $72,765 bid from Marshall Service Company for a new skid steer to be used for water and wastewater projects.
The board will next meet on Thursday, February 12th.
