The Fayette Board of Aldermen held a special hearing prior to the start of its Tuesday night board meeting to allow for public input regarding conditional use for the Ambulance District in a residential zone.
City Administrator Deanna Cooper explains the district is hoping to construct a new ambulance building in a residential area on Morrison Street. She says the district’s current building doesn’t have enough space for the district’s needs.
The lot the district purchased is in a residential zoning area, which requires conditional use for the construction and operation of the new ambulance building. Cooper says the special hearing allowed residents near that lot to voice potential concerns and opinions.
In other news, the board finalized the almost $50,000 purchase of a new battery bank and rack for the DC power grid system. The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th.
