A jury trial is scheduled for late October in Saline County Circuit Court for the Columbia woman accused of domestic assault and causing property damage outside Waverly this past summer.

34-year-old Jerrian Martin will go on trial the final week of October, with a pre-trial conference scheduled for Sept. 28. Court documents accuse Martin of pulling a woman by her hair into a home off 280th Lane over the Fourth of July holiday, then spit into the face of a sheriff’s deputy who was trying to arrest her. Deputies who arrived at the scene say they also found a man lying down on the deck with blood across his face. Deputies later learned that a pickup belonging to one of the victims was found abandoned in a nearby apple orchard, where 44 trees ranging in age from seven to 20 years old were reported damaged or uprooted.

Martin faces charges of domestic assault, assault of a special victim, first-degree property damage, tampering with a motor vehicle, and resisting or interfering with arrest for a felony. She pleaded not guilty to the charges in September and posted a reduced bond of $25,000.
