The Sedalia School District 200 will have two of its school board members returning in April, as exactly three people filed for the three seats due for election.
The board adopted the notice Monday night, confirming that they would not need to have the race go on the April 7 ballot. Supt. Dr Todd Fraley says Brad Grupe and Pam Moon will each receive another three-year term on the board, as will newcomer Eric Homan.
Homan is succeeding Scott Gardner, who will conclude his service to the district.
Board members also awarded a bid Monday night for replacing the windows at two of the district’s oldest buildings. Timekey Glazing of Kansas City had the low bid of $2,231,263 to install new windows this summer at Smith-Cotton Junior High and Horace Mann Elementary. The board also approved a pair of change orders, with an additional $9663.15 allocated to the central office project at 1700 Lafayette, while the board closed out the project renovating the bathrooms at several elementary schools by reclaiming $43,901.20 initially budgeted for cost overruns.
