A Brunswick man went off a Chariton County roadway Thursday, Jan. 29 and incurred serious injuries after troopers say he swerved to avoid a deer.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 73-year-old was driving a Polaris Ranger west on Raphael Road, outside the Indian Grove area. Troopers say at around 5:45 p.m., the driver went off the left side of the roadway to avoid a deer, causing the Ranger to overturn. He was taken by ambulance to a Columbia hospital. Troopers add that the driver had not been wearing the proper safety gear at the time of the crash.
