
The U.S. District Attorney for Western Missouri has announced that his office has obtained a guilty plea from an Odessa man charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to district attorney Matthew Price, 38-year-old Gary D Holcomb II admitted Thursday, Jan. 29 in a written plea agreement to possessing the firearm that prosecutors say was used in an alleyway behind a Kansas City residence the morning of Sept. 30, 2025. Holcomb admitted to possessing a semi-automatic rifle with a large capacity magazine and shot at someone in the alleyway before fleeing the area. He had previously been convicted for drug possession with the intent to distribute, among other felony convictions.
Under federal statutes, Holcomb could face up to 15 years in federal prison without parole.
