The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s longtime zone commander in Pettis County is getting a promotion.

Troop A commanding officer Gregory Primm announced Wednesday, Jan. 28 that sergeant Mark DeGraffenreid will receive a promotion to lieutenant and make his way to the troop’s Lee’s Summit headquarters. DeGraffenreid has been with the patrol since October 2002, patrolling Pettis County. He become a sergeant in 2011 and served as zone commander for Saline County for two years, before returning to Pettis County, where he had served as zone commander since.

DeGraffenreid’s promotion took effect Feb. 1, 2026.
