sentencing-guilty-court-2

One of the two Sedalia women accused of stealing a vehicle from a grocery store parking lot last April has entered into a plea agreement on one of the charges.

25-year-old Ashley N Bardin admitted in Pettis County Circuit Court on Monday, Feb. 2 to the charge of being an accessory to vehicle hijacking. Court documents accused Bardin of playing a role in the April 2025 hijacking of a vehicle, when another woman, whom police identified as Josephine Marek, assaulted a man and removed him from the vehicle that Marek later drove off in. Police say a woman who is blind was still in the back of the vehicle when the incident occurred. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to dismiss the remaining five charges against Bardin, including being an accessory to robbery, kidnapping and assault.

Bardin was sentenced to 13 years, with her sentence suspended pending the completion of five years probation and 60 days shock incarceration. Bardin’s guilty plea comes two months after Marek pleaded guilty to five counts including accessory vehicle hijacking, robbery, and assault. The 22-year-old Marek is now serving a 13-year sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
