A one-vehicle accident on Missouri 179 resulted in moderate injuries to its 21-year-old driver from Ashland at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 4th.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident was reported as the Ashland man was driving south on Missouri 179 near Route V. The driver reportedly observed a tractor trailer making a left hand turn, which caused the Ashland man to cross the center line and exit off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and struck a tree.

Moderate injuries were reported for the driver, who was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident. He was taken to University Hospital for treatment. No other injuries or vehicles were involved in the accident.
