Billy J. “Old Man” Snider, 81, of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

 

Funeral services with military rites will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

 

Born May 4, 1944, in Rothville, MO, he was the son of the late William Snider and Ola Statham Snider.  He married Jane Standley who preceded him in death on January 25, 2026.  Billy joined the United States Army on September 21, 1965, and was honorably discharged on September 20, 1967.  He served 11 of those months in Vietnam. He lived in Saline County most of his life where he had worked at Wilson’s, Tyson’s, Con-Agra, Marshall Habilitation Center and Gilpin Auto Parts.

 

Survivors include six stepchildren: Darrell Hardwick, Ronnie Hardwick, Randy Hardwick, Anita Hardwick Witcher, Gale Hardwick and Billy Hostetter, all of Marshall; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Marge Hall (Bob) of Marshall; a nephew and niece, and their families, Butch Hall (Debbie) of Gilliam and Sherri Perry (Lee) of Grain Valley; and other extended family.
