police-12-15

A warrant for the arrest of a Marshall man has been issued after he was charged this week in Cooper County with a pair of felonies.

Court documents accuse 43-year-old Dontri M Harris of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. According to a probable cause statement by Boonville Police, Harris is suspected of stealing a cell phone from a 20-year-old woman at a Boonville apartment building the morning of Jan. 22. The victim told police that Harris had parked behind her, exited his vehicle and opened her driver’s side door to demand her cell phone. She then told police that Harris asked several more questions, before allegedly climbing into the vehicle and fighting over the phone. She went on to accuse Harris of pressing a gun onto the back of her neck before leaving the scene.

The probable cause statement notes that Harris has prior felony convictions for assault and armed criminal action. The arrest warrant calls for surety bond to be set at $100,000. No court dates are set at this time.
