The Marshall Public Schools Board of Education were greeted by a banner and treated to cake at their board meeting last month, as staff and students marked the national recognition of School Board Appreciation Month.
Supt. Caleb Petet lauded the seven board members for their continued efforts to better the district’s students and staff, as well as the community.
It was also at last month’s meeting that the board issued a notice of non-election for the April 7 ballot, after exactly three candidates filed to run for three seats on the board. Jack Lenz and Matt Smith will return to the board, while Andreas Enyeart will succeed Amy Green.
While the national celebration of School Board Appreciation Month is in January, many districts in the area will recognize their boards in March, which is when the Missouri School Boards Association hosts its appreciation month.
