The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has named the winning bid for adding a third lane to 13 miles of Interstate 70 through eastern Cooper County.

The commission announced Thursday, Feb. 5 that Capital Paving and Construction will complete the series of improvements between Boonville and the Missouri River bridge outside Rocheport. The bid from Capital Paving was the low bid of $104 million, following the completion of the project’s design by Burns and McDonnell. Included in this phase is the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Route B and Americana Drive, just off Exit 103. Construction on this phase of Interstate 70 is expected to begin this spring, with its completion anticipated in late 2028.
