
A Boonville man has been arrested following an investigation into a reported vehicle theft in Cooper County.
According to the Boonville Police Department, officers were notified of a vehicle stolen overnight in the 110 block of Weyland Drive on Wednesday, February 4. A Cooper County Sheriff’s Office Deputy reportedly located the vehicle unoccupied in the area of Boone Village Drive and Village Drive.
A Boonville Police Officer and Cooper County Deputy made contact with Larron Brown in the area of Main Street and Highland Drive at 2:10 a.m. Thursday. Through further investigation, Brown was found to be wearing similar clothing matching an individual in the area on video surveillance of where the vehicle was stolen from. A firearm reported inside the stolen vehicle was also located in the vicinity where authorities met with Brown.
Brown was later placed under arrest. Brown allegedly had several screwdrivers that police believed were used for the vehicle theft.
Brown has been charged with felonies for tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree, stealing a firearm, stealing a motor vehicle, and possession of burglary tools. Surety bond was set at $50,000. Court appearances are pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
