A teenager from Macon suffered serious injury when the pickup he was driving crashed Saturday, Feb. 7.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the one-vehicle crash at around 4:25 p.m. on Route DD, about two miles west of Ten Mile. Troopers report that the 17-year-old was driving westbound when the pickup went off the north edge of the roadway. The driver overcorrected and returned to the roadway, but the pickup would begin sliding, eventually going off the north side of the road and overturning. The teenager was taken by ambulance to a Columbia hospital. Troopers add that he had not been wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
