One of Marshall Public Schools’ next school administrators will split her time between the office and a science lab.

Last week’s slate of hires by Marshall’s board of education included Emily Rifenburg, who will move to the district from North Kansas City Schools. Marshall Schools Supt. Caleb Petet says Rifenburg will utilize her experience not just as an assistant principal at Bueker Middle School, but also as a science teacher.
.

Rifenburg will succeed Meghan Tichenor, who was named the next principal at Santa Fe High School.

Marshall’s school board also approved the hires last week of Ian Verts as the next assistant principal at Marshall High School and Derek Bohnsack as activities director. The new hires take effect July 1.

The school board is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Tom Butterfield Early Childhood Center.
