Armstrong, MO resident, Terry Westhues, passed away suddenly at his home on February 6, 2026, at the age of 78.

Terrence Edwin Westhues was born in Boonville, MO on September 11, 1947.  He was one of five children born to the late Edwin and Mary Kay (Massie) Westhues.  Terry attended elementary school at St. Mary in Glasgow and graduated with the class of 1965 at Glasgow High School.  Soon after, Terry was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army.  Terry proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, where he served his country valiantly and heroically.  Terry served as a member of “D” Company, 168 Engineer.  With only 24 days left of duty, Terry was wounded in the chest, scalp and left hand, after his vehicle was hit with an enemy mine.  Along with two purple hearts, Terry received multiple commendations, medals and accolades for his bravery and service to his country.  Terry spent his working career as a welder for Standard Havens for 30 plus years, along with being a longtime farmer.  He truly loved farming, and it was a passion of his until the day he passed.

On March 5, 2010, Terry married Carol Labonne “Bonnie” (Gebhardt) Stockhorst in Camdenton, MO.  They’ve enjoyed their companionship together for nearly 16 years.  Terry had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs.  He also enjoyed trips to Branson, MO.  He will be missed deeply by family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Bonnie Westhues; four step-children, Chris (Michelle) Stockhorst, Jeff (Julie Brandt) Stockhorst, Debbie (Denny) Ford, and Kent (Ronnie) Stockhorst; and three siblings, Sharon Bean, Karen (Tom) Boss, and Marilyn Westhues.  In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Westhues, and a sister, Kathy Westhues.

A funeral service honoring the life of Terry Westhues will be 12 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Bill O’Neal officiating.  Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service at the funeral home starting at 10 AM, until time of service.  Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow.
