Marshall Municipal Utilities General Manager Jeff Bergstrom provided an update on the recent progress for the construction of the Marshall Energy Center.
Bergstrom explains that January’s winter storm delayed some parts of the construction process, but crews has since been able to start concrete work for the facility.
Even despite some delays, Bergstrom says the project is remaining on track to meet its December 1st deadline thanks to quick action from the Marshall City Council and Board of Public Works to approve an interconnect agreement with Panhandle.
The Board of Public Works plans to review a common facilities agreement with the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission (MJMEUC) for the Marshall Energy Center during its next meeting on Thursday, February 12th. This agreement would cover items owned by MMU that would be used by the Utility Commission for the project.
