An additional revenue opportunity could result in the Marshall Intermediate School getting new neighbors.

During his report to the Marshall Public Schools Board of Education on Tuesday, Feb. 10, Supt. Caleb Petet reported that the district was exploring the prospect of renting out the Four Square House on the Northeast Campus. Petet says having a family reside there could not only generate rental income, but also provide an extra set of eyes on the district’s facilities during evenings and the summer.
.

Petet noted in his report that he anticipates the rental income totaling between $1300 and $2000 per month, which could pay off recent work completed by the district’s building trades program over the next three to five years. The board gave first reading to the proposal Tuesday night. Petet adds that the district would consider hiring a firm to manage the rental property.
