The Concordia R-2 Board of Education approve the district’s salary schedule and set the calendar for the 2026-2027 school year during its meeting on Wednesday, February 11th.

The board started by considering changes to the salary schedule. Superintendent Theresa Christian says the board considered an increase of about four percent for next year.

 

The board also approved the 2026-2027 school calendar. The next school year will start on Tuesday, August 25th.

In other news, students were finally able to return to Concordia R-2 Schools on Tuesday after being out since February 11th due to high rates of illness. Christian believes the decision to cancel school last week has proven to be the right one after attendance surged 20 percent after the district reopened its classrooms.

 

Attendance was over 90 percent for all of the district’s schools. The district will not have to make up any of the days missed last week.
