The Concordia R-2 Board of Education decided to not renew its agreement with the Ozark Schools Benefits Association, opting to instead search for a different health insurance carrier for the 2026-2027 school year.
The board held a discussion regarding its agreement with OSBA during its meeting on February 11th. The board held a discussion regarding health insurance costs prior to making its decision. Superintendent Theresa Christian says the renewal rate from OSBA factored into the board’s decision.
The board has not selected a new health insurance carrier and will review its options during its next meeting in March.
In other news, the board reviewed the results of the Superintendent Search Survey. The survey is designed to identify the qualities that the community is looking for in the next superintendent. Christian details what the top qualities were.
Christian is leaving Concordia to become the next Superintendent of Schools for the Lafayette County C-1 School District beginning July 1st. The Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA) is helping conduct that search. The survey results are available on Concordia R-2’s website.
