A Pilot Grove man is facing several felony charges after being accused of sexual abuse on Sunday, February 15th.

A probable cause statement says Cooper County deputies were dispatched to a convenience store in Pilot Grove in reference to a 19-year-old victim reporting sexual assault. The victim told authorities that she had been sexually assaulted by 26-year-old Kale Weber. The victim was then transported to a Columbia hospital for a Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE).

In a follow-up interview, the victim stated that Weber had provided her alcohol and gotten her drunk. While the victim was in the bathroom, Weber allegedly entered and performed several sexual acts, including intercourse, before the victim blacked out. After waking up, the victim reportedly fled the residence and called 911. Authorities were able to observe bruising on the victim’s legs and thighs and a carpet burn on her shoulder. Deputies made contact with Weber, who admitted to supplying alcohol to the victim. Weber also admitted to some of the sexual acts, but denied having intercourse with the victim.

Weber has been charged with sexual abuse in the first degree and two counts of sodomy in the first degree. No bond has been allowed. Weber is due for arraignment at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 24th, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
