The Brunswick City Council is soliciting bids for the 2026 mowing season.

The council met Tuesday, February 17th to discuss the season and the properties included on the mowing list. The properties include Masonic-Douglas Cemetery, and the City Park. Bidders can bid on one or all of the properties. Duties would include mowing, weed-eating, and limb pickup, and would be on an as needed basis designated by the City. Bids will be accepted until end of business March 16th, with the council reviewing all bids during its next meeting.

The council also approved increases to the Mayor’s and council member’s salaries. The Mayor’s salary will increase to $4,000 per year, while the council’s will increase to $500. The increases take effect July 1st.

The council also held a discussion regarding an ordinance regulating campers in the city limits. Any action on the ordinance was tabled until the next meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, March 17th.
