A two vehicle collision in Downtown Sedalia on Sunday afternoon resulted in injury to one of the drivers involved.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pettis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash around 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 at the intersection of Broadway and South Lamine. According to the Patrol, a westbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman ran a red light and struck the side of an SUV that a 48-year-old man was driving northbound. The SUV’s driver incurred moderate injury and was taken by deputies to a nearby clinic. No injuries were reported for the other driver.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the report. The report also indicates that the SUV was insured by the Missouri Public Entity Risk Management Fund, which offers liability insurance to participating city and county governments.
