The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Odessa to establish a Multi-jurisdictional Law Enforcement Quick Response Team.
The board approved the MOU during its February 17th meeting. City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says the team would be used to rapidly respond to immediate threats in the Higginsville and Odessa areas.
Joint training will be required prior to the operation of the team.
The board also approved an ordinance lowering the speed limit in the southern portion of the city. Dobson says the city will now wait for the Missouri Department of Transportation to post the new signage.
Aldermen also approved an ordinance adding stop signs at 36th and 37th Streets. The board also recognized Ashley Page for 25 years of service with the city. Page began working with the city in 2001 as a Police Officer and later transferred to the Electric Department in 2007. Page also serves as the Higginsville Fire District Chief.
