The Slater School District Board of Education approved revisions to the staff dress code, voting to loosen the code for the remainder of the school year.
Superintendent Dr. Terry Lorenz explains the changes will allow staff to wear some school appropriate jeans and t-shirts during the school day.
The revisions will be in effect for the remainder of the school year. Lorenz says if everything goes well, the changes will be implemented into the dress code for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Board of Education also approved the calendar for the 2026-27 school year, with the first day of school set for August 25th. A copy machine lease agreement was approved at a cost of $598.55 per month. During executive session, the board approved new contracts for Elementary/Middle School Principal Becky Drummond and High School Principal Jessica Clements.
