A Brookfield teenager was seriously injured after his pickup was struck by a tractor trailer on a Linn County highway Tuesday, Feb. 24.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 16-year-old failed to yield as he approached U.S. Route 36 just outside Laclede around 8:20 p.m. Troopers say the southbound pickup was then struck by the westbound tractor trailer. The teen was flown to Columbia. No injuries were reported for the tractor trailer driver from Kentucky.
