A former Carroll County Sheriff’s deputy entered guilty pleas Monday to three felony charges including domestic assault.

26-year-old Brody C Lewis of Tina admitted in an Adair County courtroom to the charges of second and third degree domestic assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. Lewis was arrested last May in Macon County, after his girlfriend told law enforcement of multiple incidents since February 2025, accusing Lewis of assaulting her and, on at least one occasion, pointing a firearm at her. At the time of his arrest, Lewis had just joined the force of the Macon County Sheriff’s Office after serving as a deputy in Carroll County.

As part of his plea, Lewis will apply to participate in the veterans treatment court program through Boone County. A sentencing hearing is set for the afternoon of May 4. The case was moved to Adair County on a change of venue.
