Newly hired Green Ridge R-8 Elementary Principal Brittany Shoop spoke about the upcoming transition to her new role, as she prepares to succeed longtime principal Rachel Hammers.

Shoop, who was born and raised in Green Ridge, has served the district the past 14 years teaching in the Elementary School. She’ll fill the position left by Hammers, who is retiring after 17 years with the district. Shoop spoke about the impact Hammers has had on the district.

 

While Shoop won’t officially assume her new role until the summer, she already has several ideas in mind to boost more school spirit and pride.

 

Shoop is just one of two new principals taking over at Green Ridge next school year, as Hayden Doane was hired to be the district’s next High School Principal. Doane follows Rodney Edington, who has been selected as the Assistant Superintendent for the Hermitage R-IV School District.
