Cansata L. Arnold, 78, of Sedalia, died Thursday, February 26, 2026 at her home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with Chaplain Erich Kurz officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.  Memorials are suggested to the ACG Hospice in care of the funeral chapel.

Born April 4, 1947 in Marshall, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Arlis and Lillian George Passmore.  On February 14, 1970 in Wentzville, Missouri, she married J.E. “Jay” Arnold, and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2010.

She is survived by a son, Lee Arnold of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Becky Gonzalez and her husband Phil of Sedalia; a grandson, James Vogler and his wife Miranda; a great-granddaughter, Sadie Sue; her daughter-in-law, Becky Dochterman of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and four sisters, Shirley Butler and her husband Gilbert of Moscow Mills, Missouri, Jane Potts and her husband Bill of Buena Vista, Arkansas, Katy Bibb of St. Charles, Missouri, and Rita Welker of Wentzville, Missouri.  She was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Dochterman; three brothers; and two sisters.

Mrs. Arnold was a member of the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center in Sedalia.  She was a long-time hairdresser and cosmetologist until her retirement.  She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, playing Rummikub with friends, decorating for Christmas, and especially loved entertaining her friends.  Her family was very important to her, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.
