A number of technical issues led to the Sedalia City Council asking for a fresh round of bids for a sidewalk project in a neighborhood in the eastern part of the city.

The council agreed with the recommendation of city staff Monday, Feb. 23 and rejected all bids submitted for the project to install new curbing and sidewalks around 4th and 5th streets from Emmet to New York. City Administrator Matthew Wirt says the project funded by a community development block grant needs to meet certain specifications, not only for the site but also the project’s documentation.
.

A total of seven bids were submitted last fall. Wirt says city staff will ensure the required documentation is included when the project goes back to bid.

The bids submitted for the projects ranged from just under $600,000 to nearly $1.3 million. The Sedalia City Council is scheduled to have their next regular meeting Monday, March 2.
